Athlete Expectations 


Rules of ACT Running
  • Earbuds/music is not permitted on runs.
  • Participants stay left on the road unless it is not safe
  • Participants only cross at intersections and obey lights and stop signs
  • No more than 2 abreast while participating.
  • Participants yield to cars, bikes, pedestrians; Bikes have first priority of bike lane. Maintain 3 feet distance from vehicles. 
  • Only service dogs are allowed on runs. 
  • Participants are expected to have a light and/or reflective gear in the dark. 
  • No firearms, mace or other weapons are permitted on any run or event. 
  • Kids must remain in stroller during the run portion. 
  • We abide by the “Ranger Rule” - We leave no one behind/alone. If someone drops back (bathroom, hurt, tired), assess the situation. Communicate with coach and fellow teammates before leaving. 
  • Deviating from scheduled route or leaving the group means you are no longer a participant and the coach/club isn’t responsible for any injury/occurrence. 
  • Be mindful of conversations - don’t make other uncomfortable.
  • Participants agree to respect their bodies and limits. 
Coaching Agreement:
I, the athlete, agree to the following:
  • I take personal responsibility for the results of my coaching experience.
  • I realize that my commitment is essential to my success.
  • I will attend runs/walks on time. I understand that if I am more than 5 minutes late, I may miss the warm-up and run/walk. 
  • I understand that my success and performance may depend on the supplemental and cross-training; I understand that the better I adhere to my training plan, the more likely I am to be successful and injury free.
  • I understand that my body may require different training than other bodies; and therefore may require a different plan than others. 
  • I understand that my coach is not a trained doctor, physical therapist or counselor and will not be acting in the role of doctor, physical therapist or counselor. 
  • I give my coach permission to be honest, direct, supportive, and to challenge me.
  • I understand and agree that I am fully responsible for my well being, including my choices and decisions. I understand that I am always free to reject any advice, suggestions or requests made by my coach at any time.
  • I understand that my coach will honor my confidentiality unless required by law to disclose information about me.
  • I understand that coaching can not guarantee results in health, fitness, training and races
