ACT Running is not simply an exercise team.  
It is a community that finds common ground in fitness, laughter and friendship.  We explore the boundaries of our limits and our neighborhoods. Nature is our gym.
We focus equally between the fundamentals of fitness, self-confidence, and community.
Runners are trained using a Run-Walk-Run method (scheduled walk breaks) which allows your body and mind to safely increase distance and speed.

 About Coach Ashley:

Picture
A recreational runner turned coach, Ashley Thompson's approach to fitness makes the sport of running and walking accessible to a wide-range of people.  Her passion is fostering the love of running and supporting athletes on their journey.  Ashley's coaching experience includes working with the YMCA, DetermiNation (the American Cancer Society's endurance team), Austin Runners Meetup and Team Footworks (South Miami, Florida).  She has been a Personal Trainer at the YMCA since 2015. Ashley is the former Recreation Manager at the Ocean Reef Club and was on the Programming Staff at Camp Friendship; vocations that balanced creativity and fitness.  She has over 15 years experience as a Team Building Facilitator. As a mother of two, she understands the challenges of fitting exercise into life and appreciates the "attitude adjustment" a good run brings.  
 Most importantly, Ashley is convinced that everyone is an athlete.
